How we started

Lincoln Sheets Tutoring began with founder Lincoln Sheets tutoring students one-on-one online. Demand grew beyond what one person could cover well, so the work expanded into a tutoring team, still selective, still hands-on, and still focused on clear teaching rather than marketplace volume.

Today we support middle school, high school, and college students across mathematics, science, test preparation, English and humanities, economics and business, and related AP coursework. Families can hire us directly. Schools, districts, nonprofits, and community organizations can work with us on structured academic-support partnerships.

What good tutoring looks like

Knowing a subject is not enough. Good tutoring means explaining difficult ideas clearly, adapting to the student in front of you, and building understanding that holds up on the next quiz, not just finishing tonight’s worksheet.

We stay involved in matching and follow-through so families are not left sorting through strangers on a marketplace. Parents receive session updates. Students work consistently with the same tutor when possible. If a match is not working, we review it and arrange a different one when appropriate.

How we build the team

Tutors are carefully selected for subject depth, communication, reliability, and professionalism with students and families. We look for people who can teach, especially in STEM, but also across English, humanities, economics, business, and test prep as coverage expands.

Quality control stays close to the work: thoughtful matching, ongoing communication, and willingness to rematch when needed. The founder remains involved. You can still reach a real person.
